Overview
You have the choice of farming Light or Dark first. I highly recommend farming Dark first as Light is pretty strong early on and will usually have an easier time to farm Avatar.
Setup
I recommend setting up a party like this. Once you have farmed Avatar enough, you can slot Abyss Spines over the Claws. Select Huanglong from the support summon. You are aiming for ~440,000 honors.
Turn 1: MC 1st Skill + Limit Burst Turn 2: Huanglong Add buttons if lacking
Relic Buster, Lyria, Lelouch and Seox (Event) can be obtained from the side stories.
Lyria SSR can be obtained from the 12th Anniversary event PS, the Astrals…, however it is not available in the side story yet if you miss the event. If the side story is not available, you can still get Lyria SR from What Makes the Sky Blue side story.
If the need to solo the raid occurs as the raid is kinda dead, Metatron does not really do much until 50%.
As a newbie, you should probably look at 75% trigger. Metatron gains a buff and you should dispel it as it deals plain damage.
At 50% the triggers become more deadly but it is also easy to mitigate it. Characters with Dodge can basically solo the raid. Most popular one is Seox.
